A better life made possible by learning and practicing self-care within this structured and personalised initiative
Make sense of your pain and the path forward
Being in pain changes your life, it can change how you relate to yourself and to the world. Understanding and support can make all the difference when navigating these changes and getting on the recovery path. Together we can achieve things that we couldn’t on our own.
This is a supported self-care program for people with pain, that can be tailored to your changing needs over time.
Reflective Modules
A series of self-directed modules provide a platform for you to reflect on your experiences, gain understanding of internal and external influences, and identify opportunities for change and self-care.
Group sessions
In a structured and supportive setting we explore key features of recovery, themes accessed through a scientific process from people living well with pain. We reflect on the features, we share our struggles and insights.
Peer COACHING
We connect you with an experienced peer, someone who gets it, to support you in navigating your way out of the dark and finding your own recovery path. We focus on helping you identify the next best step.
“Connection is an energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgment; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship"
- Brene Brown
Our Program
Our Recovery is a supported self-care program for people with pain. The program exists within an online community platform.
STRENGTH
The community takes a strength-based approach; looking for opportunities to complement and support our existing strengths and capacity as opposed to focusing on, and staying with, the problem or concern. It encourages us to acknowledge the best in ourselves in order to know our own value. It allows us to move that value forward to aid recovery. We take a strength-based approach because the key lies within.
RECOVERY
In line with the strength-based approach, community members can tailor the program to meet their changing support needs throughout their recovery journey. We have a range of activities within the community. We see recovery as a process not an outcome. It is an active and subjective process that needs to adapt to our changing daily lives and context.
COMMUNITY
We see community as key for recovery. In other people’s reflections we can learn about ourselves. Self-awareness grows in connection with others and is a critical part of acceptance and being able to facilitate change in our lives, starting where we are now.
CAPACITY BUILDING
We never give others advice or suggestions, inherent in advice is that we know others better than they know themselves. The program guides people to their own insights. It builds individual capacity for long-term problem solving and ability to adapt to the changing landscape of life and recovery.
